A Little About Me
Sara Vanderlaan's passion for making short videos started before middle school. Enjoying editing and cinematography the most, she acts, designs graphics, and takes photos with her DSLR. Sara has attended competitions such as the Student Television Network which is a nationwide film and journalism competition for both middle and high schools. Her work has been submitted and recognized to a variety of festivals such as the Golden Lion (http://www.goldenlionfilmfestival.com/)and Mid Atlantic National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (https://theemmys.tv/).
In her senior year of high school, Sara helped produce a podcast called Mama's Against Cancer. The podcast is comprised of moms with a mission to enact legislative change for more funding towards pediatric cancer research.

Sara is continuing her education at the university of North Carolina School of the Arts, one of the top film schools in the United States. Whether it's documentaries or films, Sara's goal is to set an example for females who following her footsteps in the film industry.
